How to Play Pickleball
Pickleball is a relatively easy game to play. Once you start, we know you will be just as addicted to it as we are. In addition to having the right pickleball paddle, it's important to understand the rules of pickleball as we know stepping out there for the first few times can be a little intimidating. You will soon learn that the pickleball community is a welcoming one. So read on to understand a few of the basics for how to play the game of pickleball.
- Pickleball can be played as singles or doubles.
- Determine who will serve first.
- The player on the right-hand side of the court will serve first, using an underhanded or drop serve.
- The serve should land crosscourt diagonally from the server.
- The two bounce rule is in effect on serves/return. See RULES OF PICKLEBALL
- Play continues by hitting the ball out of the air or off a bounce, until the serving team gets a point, someone commits a fault or someone hits the ball either out of bounds or in the net.
- All shots in the court or on the lines of the court are considered in.
- If the serve lands in the non-volley zone or the kitchen lines, it is considered out.
